For an unknown amount of time Best Buy is selling the Blossom 12 Zone Smart Sprinkler Controller for $129.99. That’s $70 off the normal Best (worst) Buy price and $50 less than it currently sells for on Amazon.
With sprinkler season coming to a close for a lot of the US, this may be a buy and hold for a lot of people, but this is a fantastic price point for a well reviewed wifi sprinkler controller. For price comparison, this is currently selling for $100 less than the Rachio IRO, and $50 less than the RainMachine Mini-8, both of which support 4 less zones than the Blossom.
The Blossom Wifi Sprinkler Controller differentiates itself by featuring both wifi and powerline capabilities, meaning it is not limited to the range of your wifi. This comes in handy because this is one of the few smart sprinkler controllers that can be mounted outside. As mentioned above, the Blossom also supports up to 12 zones at its lowest price point, while its competitors only support up to 8 with the option to pay for larger units. One drawback is that Blossom is not currently supported by the leading smart hubs like Smartthings or Wink, but that’s not to say they wont support it in the future. Right now only the Rachio is supported by Wink, and as of today Smartthings does not support any wifi sprinkler controllers.
